This article is a question to the judiciary, this article is a question to the Governments both State and Central, this article is a question to the Police, this article is a question to the corrupt incompetent Babu who is just warming his/her chair without doing their duty properly ever, this article is a question to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, this article is a question to the unregulated capitalism which only knows making profit and not being answerable and beyond questioning!
Will Bhavish Agarwal would have remained silent if he was slapped in front of his kid?
Bhavish Agarwal and OLA have all the time and energy and resources to give gyaan on ICE Age, to talk about AI and boast of Krutrim ( there were reports viz claims on twitter that its just an outer layer or just a copy over the existing generative AI tool which the company had clarified as a glitch in the code)
We have serious doubt that they are pushing all these things and news as OLA IPO is due.Bhavish Agarwal keeps talking about innovation and all the things of the world. More than a decade of OLA Cabs, he is yet to solve a basic security issue. No doubt any of his product/services are still not perfect,not even close.
Coming to the core of this article, a National Hero (yes such real people who do on ground work are our heroes) happens to book an Ola cab, the driver asks to cancel the ride and pay in cash and when the gentleman denies he has to go through the worst experience of his life, he was slapped in front of his kid, as a father how much pain he has to endure.
Now, coming to the core point of our article why it is a question to every one of the Government departments, industrialists, businessmen, and common citizens who had legalized corruption, why does everyone expect extra for the job they are supposed to be doing and paid for it?
Why are we as a society so Corrupt?
Why Ola which was unable to solve this basic driver issue is allowed to go for IPO? Why no syrict actions against them?
The driver asking extra, cancelling the ride and asking the passenger to take the ride offline, the driver beating the customers and OLA charging astronomically without following any basic parameters in the name of peak demand. All these issues are still not addressed. People like us, we common middle class who pays taxes have to face all these in our daily lives. Now, we are questioning to everyone because:
Ola and its founder had raised funds in billions of dollars and Bhavish Agarwal had created his own wealth, he won’t use OLA so he won’t get slapped by a driver!
A judge gets a chauffeur-driven car with a cavalcade so he won’t take OLA and…………..!
An IAS/IPS officer will add prefix/suffix of these 3 letters with their names and inform the world before their entry/arrival and have some stooges take care of their travel and of course they were also chauffeur-driven (so called entitled servants whose salary is paid from tax payers money) so they won’t get slapped by an OLA driver!
A Neta who is the most powerful entity in India would never take an OLA, they would say we work on the ground for the people but still they manage to live in mansions and travel in SUVs so they won’t get slapped by an OLA driver!
An Ambani/Adani/Sachin/Dhoni/Srk/Akshay won’t ever get slapped by an OLA Driver!
Why these people would ever think of the common Man who get slapped, beaten, murdered, robbed, extorted, threatened by a OLA driver, or a OLA byke Salesman after his/her Ola scooter is burnt, or when insects are found in his food order or when given a brick instead of a phone or lose their life protecting their sister.
Where are the regulations? If at all they are there, why they are not strict and cost a bomb to the companies if there are any problems to the customer? We pay taxes so we deserve better and we expect the Government Babus to work instead of warming their seats.
There are consumer forums but they are still not user-friendly like what we did with UPI using Fintech and the world is witnessing, the justice system is light years behind, our justice system is still of the 1700s, yes that slow and inefficient in terms of tech, that’s why so many cases are still pending
In an ideal world:
Driving License issued should be very strict with proper written exam and vehicle testing (RTOs used to take money and issue licenses, no strict written exam, only driving is not enough, drivers should know all the rules)
Commercial drivers should undergo a fitness audit every year
When a Driver joins/applies for a firm, proper background verification should be done
In case of a complaint against the driver, strict transparent action should be taken and if needed that driver should be taken out or suspended from the aggregator for some time or blacklisted and this need to be informed to all the stakeholders.
In case of violence, the cab aggregator whether its OLA or anyone else should have filed an FIR against the driver and bear all the medical expenses and compensation to the victim.
Such aggregators should put physical GPS in the vehicle and put into use their AI Krutrim if its robust enough to find out good drivers, bad drivers, rash drivers, fraud drivers, criminal drivers, cheaters and looters.

This OLA CAB driver slapped me in front of my son and I strongly request you to #SayNotoOla
Last month when I was in Delhi on a medical break from my 21,000kms Walk for blood donation awareness, I was going to pick someone from the airport.
My son went along with me and we booked an #OlaCab.
The driver asked me to cancel the ride and pay him in cash. I denied and with unwanting will he started the trip.
He took completely opposite direction from our house and when I said he replied “there is a traffic jam”.
We haven’t went even a kilometre, where he stops the car and asked me to pay extra or else pay whatever comes in that ride.
Since the guy started shouting without any reason, my 6 years son got scared and asked me to leave the car.
I couldn’t see my son so scared and thought to calm him down.
I dialed security helpline from the #OlaApp instantly and called Police Helpline.
Me and my son was standing outside, and this guy took my bag.
Meanwhile when I refused to pay him and click his picture with my bag. He came out and slapped me.
There was a gentleman going (another cab driver) he came and stopped.
Later I took my son to a bench on footpath and was still on call with the helpline guy of ANI Technologies PVT LTD.
The guy over phone suggested me not to pay or talk to the driver and that’s what I did.
This triggered the driver as he was listening the call over loudspeaker and again slapped me.
But then the another driver stopped him.
The driver took two goons along with him (maybe they had some plans to loot) but since there were 3-4 people by that time. All three ran (other two were on bike).
I called #UPPolice and they came on the spot. But that was of no use.
The driver who saved me took me to the airport and told me that no action will be taken on driver.
Whereas Uber suspends such drivers and blacklists them.
I was thinking to even expect a call from Ola but till date not even a single call from their side.
The car number of this driver is HR55AP7649 and the complaint ticket number is 385689225
SHOCKINGLY the complaint was closed by Ola company in less than an hour and till date no action has been taken.
My son was so shocked that night that he cried out loud as soon as we reached home.
I just wanted to share this incident because:
1) No such driver should be allowed on road 2) People should STOP using Ola and use #Uber instead it might cost you more in terms of money but cheaper in terms of your safety and dignity. 3) Bhavish Aggarwal should be held responsible in this case directly for creating such culture. 4) It is my honest effort to protect atleast a few, who expect to use Ola as a safe car service.

We don’t know the citizen in person, yet for the cause he is working, we salute him. He is one of our National Hero. He had saved many lives.
